Looking For Success

Many, if not all of us, are all trying to be better than we were yesterday. We are all seeking our breakthrough from rags to riches. Here are a couple tips for those looking for success.

  1. “The first step to being successful is to be present.”

Every athlete that has ever been important to know has always been present in their field. Kobe Bryant, Michel Phelps, Gabby Douglas, Micheal Jordan, and Derek Jeter are just a few that are consistent with what they do. The same goes for you. To be the best musician or the best CEO of your company, you must be present and consistent. Just showing up can put you above someone that doesn’t show up at all.

2. Network, Network, Network!

Like they say, “It’s not what you know but who you know.” Make it a habit to network with those in places you want to be. If that means making time out of your schedule to attend a seminar on how to invest your money and using that opportunity to engage with the keynote speakers or taking those weekend classes of the fundamentals of Muay Thai while learning hands-on with a local Muay Thai champion, do it! It’ll only get you closer to getting to the top.

3. “Don’t Be Afraid Of The Baby Steps.”

Everybody wants to reap success while ignoring the sowing effort it takes to get there. In order to reach your destination, you first have to have your transportation, accommodation and above all, your plan to get there. Same with any goal to succeed. You have to ask yourself,”How do I plan on getting to the next level?” (transportation), “How far am I willing to go to get to the next level?” (accommodation), and finally “Do I have the right tools to get to the next level?” (Plan).

4. Follow Through

No one said it would be easy and I definitely never said I had all the answer! But the best way to reach success is to follow through. There WILL be speed bumps reminding you to slow down and stay focused. There will also be potholes that remind you to watch out for scams that will flatten your esteem and progress. But in the midst of it all, there will be times where you will be able to ride the smooth pavement to that stepping stone of success.
